Before we ask, what is sin, and without talking about heaven and hell, we need to ask, why is sin bad and why should I care. Or in other words: what does sin do to me, my psychology, the way I think, my heart, my relationships, those around me, and my relationship with God. Then we can begin to understand why sin is God’s greatest heartache.
Now you may be thinking… Sin is just some tool used by some groups to control people out of fear. Yeah, maybe at some point, 600 years ago. But sin is sin, and the consequences of sin are real, and damaging… God simply wants to protect us from these consequences.
